Acupuncture facial rejuvenation has been all the buzz in the holistic health world as a safer alternative to surgery or Botox. It improves muscle tone in the face and helps minimize fine lines and wrinkles over a series of treatments. But how does it work, you may ask?
Very thin needles are painlessly inserted on the face. The insertion sites become tiny invisible traumas to the skin, and as the body senses these punctured sites, it begins to send fresh oxygenated blood to the face to regenerate the skin. The circulatory system and lymphatic system begin to work together to stimulate the production of new skin cells on the face, as well as the production of collagen, which tightens the skin and lessens wrinkles.
Our facial rejuvenation treatment at Shine is the whole package. We start with a short acupuncture treatment on the body to ensure there is free-flowing energy from head to toe. We then begin the acupuncture facial treatment, which lasts the majority of the session. The session ends with a light cupping treatment to relieve facial tension and puffiness. We finish off with a facial gua sha to reduce inflammation and soothe the skin.
