The Northeast Ohio Hispanic Center for Economic Development (NEOHCED) is thrilled to share that it has been chosen by the Ohio Department of Development to serve as a Tier 1 Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) in the Cleveland Region.
The Department of Development Minority Business Development Division supports the growth and sustainability of small, minority-owned, women-owned, veteran friendly and disadvantage businesses in Ohio. Supporting these businesses mean providing them with resources that include technical and professional assistance, access to capital, surety bonding, and connection to business opportunities through the assistance of the MBAC.
As a new MBAC, NEOHCED will serve minority-owned businesses in the following counties: Erie, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Huron, Medina, Lake, Geauga, and Portage. The mission is to foster an inclusive and thriving business community by offering mentorship, technical assistance, access to capital and networking opportunities. With a commitment to diversity and empowerment, the center aims to help minority entrepreneurs succeed and contribute to the local economy.
Helena Rosa has been appointed the new Regional Director for MBAC. With her experience in supporting minority-owned businesses and be- ing a serial entrepreneur in Northeast Ohio herself, Helena brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.
With Luis Pealez as the new MBAC business advisor, their bilingual proficiency will be instrumental in offering vital assistance and resources to small minority-owned, women-owned, veteran friendly and economically and socially disadvantaged businesses.
