Dr. Jorge Garcia-Zuazaga has had a year for the books! With accolades rolling in for himself and his growing dermatology practice, Apex Dermatology, he reflects on his initial motivation.
“As a Veteran myself, I wanted to find a way to combine my two passions of dermatology and military service. In dermatology, we have a lot of ways we can treat scars, and in doing so, we can help heal more than just the skin and can improve confidence and happiness for deserving Veterans.”
At Apex, Garcia performs Mohs skin cancer surgeries across the seven northeast Ohio locations: Concord, Hudson, Mayfield Heights, Medina, Parma, Solon, and Westlake. He and his team have treated well over 3000 skin cancer patients in 2019 alone.
This year Apex Dermatology was recognized as one of the Top Places to Work by the Cleveland Plain Dealer, was honored with the Pillar Award for Community Service, and was named a Weatherhead 100 fastest growing businesses in Northeast Ohio. Garcia was named as a finalist for the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and again as a Top Doc by Castle Connelly.
Apex gives back to the community, and this year Apex launched the Purple Heart Project, a program that offers scar revisions at no cost to qualified wounded veterans.
“When it comes to dermatology and skin cancer, experience counts. At Apex, we take pride in always delivering on our promise of rapid access, minimizing wait times, and having staff that really focuses on the patient experience. Come see for yourself why our patients are patients for life.”
