What happens When We Sit Too Long?
Sitting causes the gluteal muscles to stretch, putting them in a lengthened state and leaves them weak. Core muscles become weak from prolonged sitting and cause a lot of the low back pain epidemic that is present in our culture today.
How Can I Undo The Damage?
At Tru Barre, the body alignment we create in our poses allows the muscles to work deeply. We use light weights to target the muscles of the upper, side and mid-back. We also take time after each strength interval to stretch the muscles. Stretching the muscles when they are warm improves flexibility and helps you move with freedom throughout the rest of your day.
